Its a 249.

Technically only the Belgian FN version is a Minimi.
The US version is the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon

Our sgt said that when newbies join the battalion they get the LSW, I asked him why and he said 'Mainly because the LSW is a piece of shit and why should someone who's been in the platoon ifor 10 yearsi lug that around with him, Its like a status thing.'

No. I think i am right in thinking there are still 2 LSW's per section of 8 soldiers (1 in each 4 man brick).
