Gary, they will know already, don't stick your nose where it isn't needed. Plenty of time for that later.
Keep grinning.

Nooooooooooo don`t gob off to the training Staff about someone else, keep your nose clean , do more than your best and mix with the lads as a team.........the training staff will call you a nobber and make it worse for you...... once all you lads get to know the slackers you can deal with them yourselves ........... someone lock him in a drying room for his own good !!! :)

What's the NAAFI like down there then Gary? Hope I'll be down there myself this side of christmas. They're right, though. Don't go to the corporals about the nobheads. Their attitudes WILL change or they won't last. You'd be surprised at how much people change after a few weeks. Don't worry about what they're doing, concentrate on your own training and admin, you'll gel as a team in time. Do favours and help others where you can, it all looks good on you. They want team players.

DAOR? Bloody hell,no. You'll regret it. Everyone always does. Then if you re join you won't have the option of DAOR and you'll have wasted another bit of your life. Look at me now, if I'd stayed in last time, by now I could be a half screw. As for shin splints, I got them in training as well, and was on sick for a few days resting and eating ibuprofens. Luckily, I didn't get back-squadded as the training staff decided I was fit enough to miss a few PT sessions and still be okay. Think about it, mate. What will you go back to, and will you want to do it for the rest of your life?

Discharge as of right. Basically he's handing in his notice. You get the option of discharging yourself within your first 3 months of training, unless you're a re-join.

Gary, Dont hand in your DAOR!! Trust me. Listen, the first 6 weeks are the hardest to adjust trust me. After the first 6 weeks things get better. Im not sure where your based at the moment, but im up at Catterick Garrison training with the Paras. I can tell u now the first 6 weeks were the worst, but then it gets much better.

Dont worry about all the w@#k in your platoon. You will find that they soon bugger off and either MD, DAOR or Transfer as time goes on. My platoon is full of nobs and loosers trust me.

As for shin splints, dont worry about it. Ive just been diagnosed with a stress fractured leg. I know how it feels to be injured and ive had shin splints before too. Dont DAOR mate, trust me, hack it out for a while longer, and things will get better.

Just like phoenix said, the tw*ts will soon be out of the picture. A lot of people get back-squadded due to attitude. They soon learn. Wait until you've had your first weekend leave, they usually relax a bit on the inspections after that. Well, they don't, but you have less of them. Phase 1 one won't last forever, and phase 2 in artillery is much easier than phase 1.
