stable belts are there purely for the purpose of holding in the officers belly. They issue them to regs so they dont catch on to this cunning deception.

They are dire, some loon is always changing dress regs.
They want it worn as a belt... it's not a practical belt with a big rusty nugget in the middle.
They want them worn outside the jumper, requiring you to wear two belts... yes well done, it wears a hole through your jumper.
And now... and now they want you to wear it with CS95... nothing better than combats with a big daft coloured band round the middle... get a life.
I'll wear them when you start issuing them and have charged me a dozen times for being incorrectly dressed. Same goes for these crap patches they keep coming up with.
I've got a set of No2s if you want me to look like a christmas tree, I never wear them so knock yourself out.
Please.

The stable belt is exactly that:

A belt to be worn when (in olden days) troops had horses and were grooming their animals in the stables. The belt helped people keep track of their troops as no headdress was worn in stables!

I'm all for them, I agree that they instill pride and I would wear anything other than the gloomy green belt. Bit of a kick in the teeth that you need to buy them and I believe that all NCOs and Officers should be issued them, I can only speak for the TA though.

It helps to instill pride within yourself with regards to your unit as does your cap badge and how you look........scank bags.....lock em up !

The only problem I ever had with mine was one hot sunny day in Hong Kong whilst having a beasting with weapons on the square .........the colours ran into each other as I was that soaked in sweat........ :-?

Abba,
Why should NCOS and Officer's be "issued" with them when the "Toms" have to buy there's. If anything it should be the other way round .
