its not what they are changing and how big the changes are its the fact that they are changing the traditions. i bet its because some ethnic minority is offended by the colour. I would love to make it as an officer in the marines but now im starting to wonder what type of country im willing to try and protect im starting to think is it worth protecting????

(yawn) since when did a corporate logo become a "tradition"? i wish people would look at things objectively and not blinkered so much by the red, white and blue..

Knew, I think what URNU means is that the logo below is not traditional, but a simple promotional symbol as URNU said. In the same way as "The team works" is not a traditional phrase but a recent slogan. The Ensign itself is, but that is not changing at all. I think the confusion is that the logo happens to incorporate the White Ensign.

FLAG!! FLAG!!!!! It is an Ensign and the Queen's Colour not a bleedin Flag!! Kill the bunnies and let loose the dogs of war.
The Ensign has been changed from its current 'Fluttering' to a rigid rectangle... bloody yuppies!

An update. Looking at the new RN website, I'm wondering if this;
Is the replacement? I hope not, it seems really rather 'cartoony' comapred with the orginal
