I know mate I was just telling paraprep1
however somewhere on here it says the maroon beret is given to recruits in week six if they pass off the square, im sure that wasnt the case in the past

sorry about that mix up, its just i thought recruits used to wear a camoflauge cap till they passed p company then they got their berets, im obviously mistaken though, thanks for correcting me

When I joined as a junior they did. It was a bit like a baseball cap but in DPM. After 6 weeks you were given your beret on the Pass Off parade. Some Regiments have a coloured backing until the day they pass out. Funny but we did not.

The DPM baseball style cap is reffered to as a ©unt cap, because you feel like, and look like one when you're wearing it.
It's only right that you don't get to appear to be a Para, when you are not one.
