Wholly is only trying help you out mate....
Its the smallest details that count in army...
And hes just trying to make that point to you, maybe he didnt say it in the way you could have liked, but when you join they wont mince there words to suit you (If you get anything wrong)
So I wouldnt take everything to heart mate or you will never make it in the army if you do...
