Lol the mile and half run in edinbourgh was great running down a canal .
We had to leave our water bottles on the ground before we set of running. When you get near the end of the run and you can see the finish line just leg it ! put all your last umph into it. and u will get good marks they know that you have tried. About the heart thing, yes you might get sent back. but you will have to go to a specialist but they will tell you when to go back to selection it could be like 2 months. Im going basic training 12th Jan 09. Cant wait !!!

Cant agree more on this!!!

A fantastic outlook on what to expect as this pretty much matched my experience there, albeit a little re-arranged with the order of things happening.

If you are going for this you should read and RE-read HarryH's post and you'll be ok!

Ive got a pretty good idea on what to expect at the ADSC now, the only thing which is a bit of a grey area is the team tasks. Can anyone go into a little detail as to what happens here, any tips? As these seem a quite important aspect of the course.
Regards.

Dont really want to spoil your fun (and they are fun unless its pi$$ing down and cold like it was when I did it!!) but here's a little taster...

You work out in teams in a couple of minutes how you are going to complete practical tasks such as how to get across a minefield (a box surrounded by a marked off area of chipping to simulate the no go area) with a tyre or stopping halfway to collect an ammo box using only the plank or pole supplied and getting the whole team across.

Another one was using a pole and a plank you have to transfer a huge oil drum and your team to the other side without touching a trip wire as you go over. Another was utilising different length planks to get a team first of all onto a frame within a minefield then transfering those people and the equipment from the framework to the other side.

They definately get you thinking and if you are a leader of one of the command tasks you'll be watched as to how well you place yourself, your leadership, your conveying of your plan to others and of course your ability to bring the best out of the whole group and your plan methods.

Of the whole weekend do not worry about these... I found these one of the best things I did throughout!
