To be honest your shin splints would be worse in the Paras than the Marines.
Tabbing is horrendous on the shins and thats wasn't even para pace i was doing. where as yomping or speed marching never bothered mine. Although yomping was the toughest out of the 3 ive ever done.
But still good luck with the PRMC

Ok thanks guys, I am very dedicated to the Marines and dont know why I even thought about a 'backup plan'.
I am just going to get my shins better and work even harder to blitz my PRMC.
My upperbody is fine, at my RMAD I did:
41 pressups,
83situps
7 pullups (could of done more. stopped at 7)
By PRMC Im going to aim for 50 pushups, 90+ situps and 10 pullups.
Just have to heal my shins and start putting out some miles.

Fair one mate you sound well on track for PRMC but you should probably be aiming higher with the press-ups. Glad you've made a firm decision like i said in my first post wasn't a slagging just an observation if you want something bad enough then there are no alternatives.

Just a quick question - I thought tabbing and yomping were the same ?!
Or is tabbing the same as speed marching

Its all the same really, just covering distance with weight on your back.....only difference is Para Reg do it faster!!

Correct me if im wrong but there all diffrent weights.
The yomping i did in the marines was with 85-90lbs and thats not even full kit apperently
Tabbings done with roughly 45 lbs
and speed marching with 31lbs
Marines speed march faster than the paras tab, yet the paras tab faster than the marines yomp. So it comes down to the heavier the weight the slower you go.
But who cares anyway there all tough

You sure? Im no expert but when i saw a P-Coy video of tabbing, they were shifting at a fair pace (basically power walking). Everyone interviewed was saying how their shins were pounding after about a mile. It looked pretty damn tough.
Im led to believe that tabbing came from the need to get off a dropzone sharpish, and so its hardly going to be a doddle.
