yeah, you want to taper the training off before the event (e.g PRMC). Dont train hard the couple of days before you go down and your performance should be at its peak when you thrash it again. Common sence that you should take it wasy so that you're fresh when you need to be but the temptation is to train hard the days before you go in the hope that you do better whereas in reality you could end up doing worse.
