Exreg, for pity's sake this is 2007, not 1947!!
To be honest your attitude sucks on here, you already had a PM from me explaining the purpose of this site to help people, who can't afford gyms, or don't necessarilly have anyone to talk to.
If you continue this talking/putting down attitude you will harm your Regiment's case for recruiting people
Think what you like but how the hell are you going to attract people into your outfit....

I'm not trying anything...ask anyone in the reg...blokes who go on insight courses get hammered when they get to battalion, FACT. Pretend all you like.

Don't say a lot about the Regt I knew & worked with (last time was with 1 Para in Norway 1985, they were ace mobile force). I found them to be pretty good at their job. Ok so they work hard and play hard thats obvious but I don't think they
"Hammer" young lads just because they want to find out the pros and cons concerning the Para Regt before joining.

There are a few lads on here who are now serving in the reg who went on insight courses before they joined (i.e paratrooper) and from what they've told me they have received no stick for it whatsoever and still thoroughly recommend them to people.

I don't see anything to be hammered for in the regt fr attending an insight course. It just helps decide whether the career is for you or not.

Exactly!
That is what I have said all along.
If it isn't worth doing then they wouldn't put it on.
EXREG come to no 6. Have a night out with us.
You would not last five bloody minutes.

Hi all new to this forum, serving with 3 para.
Just to say, I know 'EXREG' who used to be in 1 Para and he's a good lad. Passed out with him. From reading previous posts, he's not winding people up, just telling it how it is - thats the way he is.
Can I say from experience, if you came to my Plt and said you had done 3 insight courses, you would get f@#k ing hammered! Not winding people up but thats the way it is, big boys world.
I'm here to look around and hopefully help out any aspiring 'troopers', but I will say one thing - by binning EXREG you've done yourself an injustice really, the lad had ALOT of experience (operations etc..). But, say la vee, greetings!!!!

Fair point he's telling it how it is...but think he needed to be a bit less arrogant about it and maybe people could have understood and/or agreed with his views...
Plus not everyone has been there done it and got the t-shirt like him...so do not have the know how and may say seemingly(think thats right) stupid comments...but are really just under educated in military life!
