In my day we wore hobnail boots - with the nails on the inside. The Sargent would collect the blood after each 50 mile run and would make it into a black pudding that we'd eat for t'next days breakfast - if we were lucky.

yeah ive got the new "updated" ones

they look exactly the same to me though.. except they havent got the army logo underneath the tongue

cant go wrong for 38 sheets.. havent had chance to use them for runs yet only cutting round camp

Those trainers are probably the worst running trainers iv ever seen!

Get yourself a pair of Asics and you will less chance of injuring yourself and they are very comfortable. Afterall, they are designed for runners

I agree with 01 exactly - I had a pair of the PT-03 and they were dreadful. Got some Asics the other day, and they are very comfy indeed. Not much chance of an injury with them, although I was told to replace them after a year or so.

Yeah i have a pair of Nu-Balance. Nikes, Adidas and all the rest are crap. They are marketed towards the fashionable side of running, you dont need them when your road running or geting them pastered in mud - screw them. Reebok arent tooooo bad so i've heard, but if you can just stay away from the big brand names all together.

The best place to get running trainers is to go to a specialist sports shop where they can fit them for you and even get correct insoles installed for you so they can support the arch in your foot to stop it from falling.

Sorry i forgot to mention about Asics - these are ok too so i have heard and you have just read, and yes, i was told to replace my trainers after a year depending on the useage.

go to a proper running shop as has been said before they will advise you on what shoe you need based on your techinque ect

I wasn't being a propagandist for the PT-03's or anything, I only have one pair and they were comfortable for me.

I've got a pair of Air Pegasus, which I find great to run in.

It's all about finding the correct shoe for your style of running. As Dylanredefined said, go to a proper running shop and see what suits you before you buy.
