Well basically the contingent is part of the school - we only have one parade a week and there are three sections - navy, army and raf (some have a marine section as well). Ours has 175 cadets, 75 in the raf section

. Think we do a lot of the same stuff as ATC - flying, shooting, command tasks, nitex etc. but we the chance to do things with the other sections as well, on field days we sometimes work together on different tasks and during the two day exercises we have... The raf section also gets two annual camps - easter and summer, then you can also do ACLC, gliding and flying scholarships later as well... We go flying and gliding bout 3 times a term, that's bout all I can think of atm

We used to have Easter and Summer/Annual camp, but we did mostly fieldcraft, section drills and weapons training. But most of the time we were just getting beasted which was all good fun.

Indeed - well our parade is only an hour and a half so we cant really do much in that time, mainly drill which is all good fun! ma bfs asked me to go and help at the ATC squadron he teaches at so that'll be different

I love drill but we hardly got to do it at our unit because the Navy cadets were always on the parade deck, so we just had to do lectures in our barracks.

That picture of Cranwell just sent shivers down my spine - thought I'd never see it again!
On your original Q, when I was in the ATC we had no issues with CCF - it was the scumbag Army Cadets we hated, and as the CCF did also, it gave us something in common!
