Mate it was a year to the date today that I got jumped and put in hospital in a nightclub by a group of apparently more than 10 lads, for asking a girl if she knew where the toilet was I had a lad up in my face, never being one to really back down from a situation as its not the way I've been brought up I got headbutted from the side unexpectedly, as I turned round and punched the lad who nutted me another one hit me so I started fightin with a few of them, I then got kicked from behind, punched and bottled, leaving me about a 2 inch long wound to my head and putting me to the floor, as if this wasnt enough for them as there were more than 10 of them, they then decided that I hadnt had enough n when they put me to the floor decided that they would stamp on me and kick me in a bit, I got sent in an ambulance to hospital, although I did find the situation funny once I'de got saved by the doormen pulling me out (I had been drinking a lot though and found things that werent funny hilarious!) and recorded video's of the mess they made of me, I was angry when I got to the hospital and decided I wouldnt press charges against the 3 that got caught and arrested instead I would get my revenge on them, a few days later I had a phone call from the police telling me that a statement needed to be made about the incident and made a date to visit me, the police didnt turn up when they were meant to which he rung and apologised about the next day as he said there was an incident occured which I was fine with as I believed mine was only little incident as I'de only taken a kicking so made another date, which he didnt turn up to again! In the end I had to go to the police station to make a statement and decide what I was going to do as the lads who got arrested's bail ran out on that day or something so needed to be done, I had thought about it and decided I wasnt thinking clearly that night and that I would press charges.......Once I went to press charges I got told that it would probably end up in court as two of the lads I had hit had suffered injuries and had made a statement to press charges against me!!!!! the cheek of it! think one of them ended up with a broken nose and the other I had done something else too but I didnt take interest, but got told as I was the victim if I dropped the charges they wouldnt press charges against me because the doormen had witnessed it and were on my side luckily and had statements taken from them and a few other people in there, so not wanting to get done because I want to be a bootneck I decided to drop the charges and leave it at that, but what I'm really getting at is that they didnt really care that I fought back to protect myself they seen me as a violent individual who should have just walked away from the situation, but in all fairness I was only arguing with one lad so couldnt have avoided the getting jumped bit, stupid I told the police officer but I gave my statement and left it at that basically, but there is no giving the criminals what they deserve half the time, I mean getting put in hospital for asking where the toilet is, in my eyes is a bit of a piss take. sorry about the essay just thought I would say its a shame that people who do stuff like what you had done to you get away with it a lto of the time!

Seriously Man don't take the law into your own hands. Just walk away! By taking revenge you simply sink to their level and lose all moral high ground

that story actually reminded me of a year or so back... something id completely forgotten about until now.

I was in town one night, and our group got into a heated discussion with another. Much like a similar post in another thread somewhere, it was actually nothing to do with me!

Anyway i'd noticed the police circling round the block keeping an eye on our two groups when as i saw them approaching again, one of the guys from the other group landed an absolute corker of a punch on one of the guys i was with. He obviously didn't realise the police were right behind him... idiot.

As it happened the police didn't actually see it, but a gentle "it was that one officer " and into the back of the van he went. You want to have seen his face. Priceless. He pleeded guilty.

Good to hear that you fought back mate. Personally i think that you dealt with that situation very well :) . Unfortunatly there a to many pr?$*s in England that believe to smash someone's face in is ok(w******s) .But seriously fair play for what you did and i think it would be unlikley for them tosers to do that to you again. Thier probibly all really in-secure people to have to beat someone up for asking "wheres the bog". Also you must have landed a nice punch to break that tw**s nose.

Fair play mate. Ed.

The legal system is far to lenient these days, a paedophile will get 8 years out in 5 on good behaviour and a rapist will get something pathetic like 3 years......it's far to soft. Sorry to hear about the rock inncodent wedge, back in the day you would find out who they were pay them a visit with a balaclava and a baseball bat, leaving them in pool of there own blood and it would be left at that, eye for an eye. But now adays it takes a year to get to court only to find there's no witnesses and the bastard's let off. Same with any argument really, if somebody's got a problem with you its never a 1 on 1, their friends, uncles and pets get involved so unfortunately unless you've got a troop of marines with you  you've got no choice but to leave it. And no im not saying violence is the only way, but sometimes its the best option and the only way it can be dealt with if the legal system doesn't do anythin.

ARRG! , makes me wish it was like when my dad was younger - you could have it out with them hand to hand (no weapons) and that would be that!

These days "OI MATE/BLUD! WOT U LOOKIN AT??" When you're not even looking at them, and in your mind you're saying and knowing "if you come over here mate and start on me, im gonna mess you up, i'll smash the f*** out of you!!! " But what comes out is the composed side "Don't know what you're on about mate?" and you just walk off.

Sometimes i wish it could be like the old days. These people never learn. But i'll stick to what i have said 'what goes around, comes around'

Reading these stories just makes me feel so angry and fed up with whoever it is that allows these people to be on our streets. Why the F*** should decent people have to put up with this scum?

I live in one of the known 'chavy/scum' area's of cheltenham, and see this kind of shite so much, that you wonder if our government ever puts people in jail. My mate who i work with was attacked/mugged here not long ago, and it turns out that the same people had been on a spree that night. They had randomly attacked and mugged 7 other people on the same night, leaving one man unconcious and an other teenager in hosptial after pushing him onto a railing, where the spike went through his arm.

The eldest man, was the uncle of the other man invovled who was 18, and the youngest offender (who was not named in the paper due to his age) is we believe (through talking to other locals) the mans own son. SERIOUSLY what kind of people are these? The eldest has a history of crimes, from robbery to assualt and people who know him know that he is just a complete waster. Why was he not in jail, why are the sentances for these kinds of retrabates not so much longer or so much more unsavoury experiences for them, so that when they come out they dont re-offend?

It seems to me that people like this, just really dont see jail as a reason to NOT commit an offense. Its as if its just a part of the 'game', a slight negative to the way they live thier crappy lives. In the meantime decent law abiding people have to put up with it.

On my route that i go running, the difference between scum and decent is all to apparent. Where i live and start my run, the kids swear at you, and often will throw stuff at you or are just hanging about looking for trouble. A few miles out however in a nicer part, the kids will move out of my way in advance so i can run past with ease, ive even heard them tell each other on occasions to move out of the way. It really is amazing how some people are just dragged up and left to do what the hell they like, and unfortunatley is seems they seem to get away with it. I can guarantee many of the offences i have seen around here will have just gone un-reported, and ive heard so many times about incidents that have been reported but nothing has happened for one reason or an other. I,m with Flo in that i believe the police in many aspects have thier hands tied by stupid regulations and laws and the such that allow for scum to stay on the streets.

The government need to get tough, and soon because the little turds that live around me at the moment wont just throw stones and shout abuse for ever....they will get worse and commit far bigger and consequential offences as they get older unless the punishments they get given now, pursuade them otherwise. Personally i know what responce i,d rather see them get, but its probably best i dont say, and im sure you all know what im thinking anyway.

I'll say something now and i know everyone will know what i mean, its a quote from a book by Tom Clancy that got made into film 'Clear and Present Danger'

"The kind of action i would like to suggest, is the kind of action i cant suggest"

I believe sometimes it is necessary to go that far and show these people that if they push too far, we'll push back and show them they cant get away with doing and saying almost anything they like in this 'politicly correct' and quite unjust society of ours...

today it was 20 on 3 in tonbridge park. My mate was the only one to get hit, but he was punched in the head at least 20 times. We didn't even start it (we being 3), they started insulting us, so I (stupidly, it was a macho instinct coming out) stopped and confronted them.

Police are apparently on it, although I doubt they will do much.

the age of the offenders:

13-18

With most being 13.

   I live in an area similar to that, it ranges anywhere from 13-20 year olds giving it a good old front, most of them are pure muggy skum. If its not that then they're trying to act like a bunch of 'gang-bangers'. Its a bloody joke mate.

Taimos: Alright mate, you should try and be careful to avoid those confrontations mate, try not to do the 'macho thing' mate, it might go against your instincts but you have to use your head in those situations. Only retaliate if you genuinely feel threatend and you have no other choice, then thats ok, you 'do what you have to do to ensure your own and others personal safety' providing that you actually felt threatend!

All im trying to say is, dont do anything that would ruin your chances of getting into the corps (i think you want to join up, right?). Im not saying don't defend yourself, by all means do exactly that - but please use your mind. You will have alot more to loose than they will if you just outright attack them and do the 'macho thing'. Chances are they are going no where in life, you on the other hand have a career to think about. :-?

Take care ok. 8)
