95% industrial methylated spirit
2.5% castor oil
0.5% methyl salicylate
2% diethyl phthalate
I've just got to know anout this now.

I have 3 university level chemistry courses, I've been in the TA, I've been to Sandhurst, I've lived in the UK for 3 years, I have an English wife and I still don't know what effing methylated spirits are!

Is it what you clean paint brushes with? Strong smell like Gin, catches fire easily?

An ex-army guy I knew used to light the barbecue with "meths" and it smelled like paint thinner.

Where do you buy it?

Strangely, not one man in my Platoon at RMAS used the stuff and the DS never mentioned it nor did the RMAC people.

Sorry to go on about this but its driving me crazy.

It's that blue/purple stuff that down and outs drink. You never heard that old song: Little owd meths drinker me! :D

As a kid I used it to power me Mamod live steam toy steamroller. You can buy it in Hardware stores. And yes it's a good paint cleaner. I use it for cleaning my brushes when working on Canalboats.

95% industrial methylated spirit
2.5% castor oil
0.5% methyl salicylate
2% diethyl phthalate

For: Prevention of bed sores and hardening the skin of the feet.

To use: Apply the solution directly to the skin with a pad of cotton wool as required.

(I just read the label of my industrial sized bottle. I'm not THAT clever :P )

You can get it from your pharmacy. Couple of quid for a big bottle should sort you out.

Dave
Also works for PS2, SAGA, and X-Box 8). I've heard they cause nasty blisters, too!

I wouldn't know about that. I have one of those increasingly rare things: A life.
