As for normal RM guys, Career Management has changed drastically in the last 17 years. after Options for Change IIP, Budget Target, ect ect. The bean counters came out. big time :D

Sneaky if you'd been in the Kate you would have adjusted to the idiosyncracies of it the same way as you adjusted to whatever it is one needs to adjust to as a bootie.

There's no rights and wrongs - it's just what you're used to.

Now I know, BPC makes sense! We just called it the Para course.
It is why I am against users of this forum and all others - using initials which are either unknown or could be misconstrued.
I did my "BPC" in 1962. That is long enough ago to not be able to keep up with you young buggers in terms of initials or fitness!!!

Can I ask that if you want to use initials - even - if you know them to be in general use these days - please think of us older guys who do not necessarily know what you are talking about!!

GD,
I was able to go along with your banter - but it is Saturday and I do not need a Potty.
You may also lose a friend.

OK, GD,
I just thought you were being a bit too frivolous! And I do assume that you are just a little bit older than me!! Maybe it was just Saturday and I was tired after a day's (bad) golf!!

Haven't got time to read the whole thread (or what he's supposed to have done) but I have met Brig Kennet. Have to say that he came across as a very switched on bloke who was rather nice as well. But I only met him once.

If you only met him once then you never had the pleasure of serving under him. Dan :)
From the feed back from those that served under him, all have a differing opinion of someone with a Jackal and hide nature who was dangerous. I wont use half of the words used about him, but im sure not all who posted, both Officers and OR on a number of sites could be just cast off as disgruntled because their careers did not go the way they wanted.

However, It could have been his older Brother, Andy you met. Who was barking but well respected in 1 PARA and a decent chap to know.

Sneaky that offer for your para record card still stands if you would like it

The question remains however, Should this Officer Kennet, If he had done no wrong and was innocent of the allegations made in the papers. Sued as did Col Collins. and if not why? After his credibility has been judged in the press, His career and standing would be in question by others under him and considering him for further promotion

A tad confusing, both are called Andrew for some reason  However Andy was CO 1 para. Andrew was CO 3 PARA and later became Brig 1 Mech Brigade.
Hope that clears things up :)

Andrew being the Officer in question
