Then he can sue (sp) for unfair dismissal, a few years ago the government introduced a bill saying all reservists who were called up could NOT be fired, cant remember what it was called, it will be on the army website, or one of the other stabs may know.

But they cannot fire you for being called up, tis illegal.

Thanks Lew!

I will re-read the book and see what it says. I thought you could not lose your job if you get called up.

However, we don't know the facts behind his case there might have been another reason to lay him off.

I think its disgusting that a bloke goes out to Iraq to free the people out there and gets stick when he comes back :evil: :evil: :evil:

from a civilian point of view (at present) I think 90% of people will not understand a persons need desire and reason for being a soldier of any armed force.

Always the question, why do you want to join? Whats made join? Do you want to get killed?

I never answer these questions, I dont know how to be honest. Just give the answer 'Its what i have always wanted'

The point of this is 90% of people (in my mind) do not understand todays soldier, Or what soldiering is really about.

Just felt like i needed to say that
