Yeah I would cut down but keep a moderate level of fitness if I was in that position. Have a gander on a bodybuilding website for diet info - I like www.muscletalk.co.uk.

Supplements are all very good but make sure your getting as many claories and protein frrom whole food as possble(aim for 1.5g of protein per pound of bodyweight.). 6-8 small meals a day and try not to include too much junk thats high in saturated fat.

So does this mean the AFCO would not pass me in the medical until i lose weight?

when you have your medical, the Dr will weigh you and check your height then do the BMI that i shown you then i the Dr feels as if you need to loose weight they will tell you to loose it before you can continue the process, but if you just miss by a margin they might be reasonable and say all is ok. Thats pretty much what happened to me, my BMI was fine but the Dr felt i needed to put 6kg before i can continue, even though my weight is good...not a happy chappy

Is muscle taking consideration into the weight, cause i heard that tom cruise is classed as obese, cause he is short but and muscley.

BMI is totally useless as a measure of healthy body composition for anyone with a high level of sporting activity.

not sure, i think the idea of the BMI is for your weight to be in proportion to your height, you'd have to ask your Dr or GP

BMI is indeed a generalised way off checking wether or not a persons weight is in relation to their height. But doesnt distinguish between muscle mass or body fat. Body callipers are used to assess body fat percentage which can tell wether a person is obese or not. Or just ask them to jump naked and if they wobble excessively then they are a fat farker!

Muscle mass can be a problem if your like Arnie in his hay day, but aslong as your CV can carry your creatine filled biceps around the assault course or during a company snake then all is well.

A few lads and myself once did loads of weights when I was downgraded due to a knee problem, fark me did we suffer when we got back running! We were on all the pills and shakes going for nearly 6 months and the SQMS was going ballistic at how many times we went to him for bigger shirts and denims!

BMI is a benchmark but any good MO will note wether he thinks your a fat farker or an Arnie, or as in this case a beanpole!

Anything above a 36 inch waist was also a measure of someone who should be out doing some extra Phys.

That body mass talk is a load of B.S, I just put the whole England rugby team to the test from England v Ireland 2002 program the results are as follows:

Jason Leonard, Dorian West, Neil Back, Phil Vickery, Steve Thompson and Rowntree are all obese. All the rest are considered overweight including the likes of Johnny Wilkinson and Jason Robinson. the only two who are considered 'healthy' are Iain Balshaw and Nick Duncombe the latter of which died of meningitis.
