H_N you could always start a new career in the profession of fence sitting, I wish sometimes you said what you felt cos this bottling everything up and being politically correct all the time cant be good for you

My old civvy boss once asked me at an annual review meeting after he had politically mentioned all my strenghts and weaknesses what I thought of him,

"well, I think your a well polished, educated, successful man, who leads from the front with ambition, experience and a firm but fair manner, its a joy to learn from you and draw on your experiences during the rough times, and to enjoy a beer and a laugh during the more upbeat times"

"really? I didnt think you thought that much of me"

"I dont I was just playing the game like you do and lying through my arse!"

but as he had already signed my review document and was being promoted the next day, he didnt have a leg to stand on and now knew what he always thought.....that I viewed him as a lying lazy loud mouthed twonk who I wanted to fill in, and I would if I ever saw him again!

Learn how to spell, it may help your application!

As for the Armed Forces or the Police. Having done both, all I can say is they are both different and both good and bad in different ways. I wouldn't suggest joining RMP/RAFP etc in order to become a civvy police officer at a later date. If you are going to join the Armed Forces, do something interesting and exciting with lots of courses/overseas exercises/deployments. If you dont intend doing your 22 years, ensure that the time you do spend in is fun

Become a Jehovas Witness, Knock on peoples doors for a couple of years, then transfer to the pointed end and join the SA! (Salvation Army) :D

Seriously though:

My Bro in Law was 22 years in the REME and saw more nasty sights than most people who think of themselves as at the pointed end can ever imagine. The mess left after GW1 along the road from Kuwait to Iraq being just one of the things he was left to clean up after the Yank Air Force and the RAF had hammered the shit out of the fleeing Iraqi Army. And his trade was Technical Storeman or summut like that. So whatever trade or service you decide on you could well end up seeing things that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

Once you sign on the dotted line just remember that you cannot suddenly decide that it's not your Cup of Tea and just leave. They Powers that be tend to get annoyed when people do that. You have to commit yourself 100% or forget it.

lol again with the spelling I've decided I will just type as if this in a exam as it seems typing so much faster so I can do important stuff is not a priority.

Thing is I always wanted to join Police, and always wanted to join Army. I have been f@#k up lately and what I thought I wanted i.e. a career in Computers but that’s not what I want.

I spoke to a SGT in the office and he seemed to put to ease any worries I had. I really want to join the army it’s not the idea of the army I like everything about it. I've read through leaflets I was given (bias) and say as a RMP I can do parachute training and commando courses and blah blah.

I also considered at phase 2 if I have decided to do combat/engineering I will and if I really want to go RMP then I will.
