Agreed
GET A TRAINING PARTNER - Best way to keep yourself motivated (preferably someone whos not a lazy bastard) I personally have about 6 different training partners so there is always someone to train with. Get someone who also has the same goals and fitness as you so that you can to a certain extent compete with them to reach targets or to push yourself harder.

I'v tried both with and without and but when you have a partner it means you can beast each other to breaking point. It's easier when you got someone making sure you don't slack.

The only way to go forward is by running
Thats your and my motivation right there, if you dont train you wont get any closer to joining the military.

My motivation comes from wanting to do it, No crappy music, no training partners, no stylish little slogans about winners and quitters lol. It just comes from WANTING to get fit, I want to go and run for 45 mins in the rain... I dont wanna sit in doors and put my feet up.
Motivation is a great thing and i understand it absolutley works for most people, But i think you need to get to the stage where you dont NEED it. You just have to WANT to put yourself through bad times because its the means to an end.... ie getting the beret.

I prefer running in the rain, it means you stay cool for longer. Plus i dont always listen to music when i run as i know i wont be able to when im in my proper training

Motivation, hmmm I’ve never really had a problem with motivation, as I said earlier the best kick up the ass you can get is once the AFCO phone you and tell you your PRMC date.
On the training partner issue, my dear ole sweet mum just bought me some sessions with a personal trainer

. he (was told I couldn’t have a lady trainer as I would waste my sessions flirting and showing off) came round and we chatted about what I was aiming for and where I was fitness wise. I told him I wanted to be beasted till I sweated blood and by god he has delivered, in two sessions with him I’ve thrown up twice through sheer exhaustion.
If you got the money to do it fells get yourself a few sessions with one, I think its money well spent.

I can vouch for the private PT. I have done 8 with a a ex para PTI at my gym. They cost a bit but dident cost me a penny (tax rebate when i went from full time to part time). Done 4 sessions of weights and 4 CV. Its amazing what extra you can find when theres a guy shouting at you to show more aggression as your breathing out of your arse.
