i hate training right now, absolutely hate it... dont let that put people off, lol, everyone has their own opinions.
But yeh i hated being on exercise quick cover (which is the first wet and dry one) and it all piles on top of itself, like being knackered all the time, less motivated as the days go on, hate having no time to do everything, muscles hurting, cramp, being beasted constantly, and thinkin that i still have another 27 weeks to do going with me not being injured or back trooped. :-?

But i dunno im thinkin it through over these weeks off, i know my dad would be disappointed if i quit, what with him being an ex-bootneck and havin served 25 yrs...but im in it for myself not him, its me thats got to live this life.

Anyone who says he enjoyed all of his CDO training needs to see a trick cyclist!

Bad days, Good days. The thing is, later in life you always remember the Good Days.

I was never over enthused with Dartmoor/Woodbury when it was persistantly chucking it down. It nackered me ciggies! :D

You are right it is your life and your decision. I carn't give you any advice because i haven't been in your situation. But, don't you think the reward will be worth it, being a royal marine commando. As someone said, pain is temporary failing lasts a lifetime. Good luck with what ever you do.

You just have to discover the reasons you joined in the first place mate, If its not for you then there's nothing anybody can really do about that except you... But just dont quit and regret it for the rest of your life mate, As you said, give it a good think! best of luck.

Bill the Hill? nah not met him yet, we had Nod killer with us in the gym for a couple of sessions but he wasn't as bad as everyone makes out.

Your DL's alright, we went to the church with him for one of those pointless tea drinking sessions and he seemed alright. One of my troop laughed at him when he messed up a drill movement on the parade square and he went absolutlely ape, started pushing him and threatning to slap him, then threatened the whole troop with a speach on not getting lairy because he could ruin our whole career :o

Just one more small point.
If you bin it, because you can do it, but choose not to, you will have deprived another lad the possibility of achieving his dream.
Get your head in gear, don't go soft during leave, stick to your routines and buck yourself up. Nobody else can do it for you.

Yeh mate, I dont know what training is like cause im not in it but I can imagine the course was designed for you to be suffering from sore muscles etc and still having to stay focused and train normally as you would when you are fresh. I know its your decision but before you make up your mind make sure that the decision you decide on is what you really want. Plus just remember people would give anything to be where you are right now. So i hope that if staying in is what you really want you will take all this motivation people have given you and use it to full advantage. Forget about the past and you wanting to quit and focus about the future and remember............ "Cant isnt the word you are looking for, Its wont", Good luck mate and I hope you make the right decision.

before you went in you were chomping at the bit, keen as mustard - just remember why it was you felt that way and think to yourself that if you can see this out you can do anything.

Keep working mate and believe in yourself, don't let yourself down, you'll regret it.

Good luck

There was a Wren Driver who used to make a beeline for any young looking Nod she took a fancy to. Built like a bricksh*t house so she was.

"Big Bad Brenda from Brum" she had a heart of gold and was known to sub a Skint Nod a couple of quid as long as she got it back next payday.

Once on Woodbury Commen she faced down a Sgt PW who was giving these Nods a bit of a hard time over their turnout. Twas as funny as Fark watching this Hard Hitting, hard fighting man of action getting it in the neck from Brenda.

"Youm stop giving them an ard time youm big bully". Brenda got a bollocking about that incident but it stuck with the Sgt for years afterwards. It aint all beasting and perjury in training you know.

In the latter stages of training me and another Nod decided to get revenge on this particular PW Cpl who was detested by both the Troop and the training team.

The training team had an Elsan set up about twenty feet from the 12 by 12 they were using as Accom during one exercise on Dartmoor. We waited until Cpl ****** came over to use it and shoved a Thunderflash into it via the hole in the back of the Elsan and then legged it away.

BOOM!

Got him a cracker! Sh*t all over his fizzog. Thing was our Troop Sgt had pinged us and not surprisingly we were worried sick about being done. As it was it was only at the Troop PU at the end of training that he mentioned it. "Bloody good effort!" was his comment. As to the Cpl, well at the same PU another Trg Team Cpl beat the living crap out of the Git. :D

We just did the 22km (14 mile) criteria in a oner, not sure how much extra we did in bits and pieces, we had a 6 mile insertion onto the moor, plus a few ks here and there to helo lifts.

Yeah everyone was amazed G****** got so far, he's a good lad, though definitely gets on your tits after a while! The lad who ran Achnarry actually beat both Capt R****** (MLO) and Cpl D****, don't know how many of the rest of the team he beat, but he certainly was one of the fours times taken to give the team the win.
