Not sure about that Sticky, he cried when told to get his rifle off the bottom of the pool. Also in the clip for next weeks episode he was crying & saying "I can't take this". Looks like a bit of a fairy to me, after all despite what he looks like, he is 18 (though just my humble opinion of course).

I too was shocked by what a bunch of fuggin' poofs they seemed to be. Was also annoyed that I never heard about entering the programme. I would have loved to have done it!

Not a bad programme overall though, even if I did get quite wound up by the general lack of moral fibre.

Remember the last rct ex when it was snowing on the natural assault course? Don't remember anyone crying about river crossings then.

I missed that episode too, will have to watch the rerun.

I'm sure they're not just going to pick people who are going to sail through the few weeks though. I mean it's TV, they have the drama all planned out.

I can't imagine any recruit in real training wimping out of anything, especially something so stupid as a river crossing. PRMC does a good job on most. Where was the river crossing anyway, in the tank or on a real river?

It was on Dartmoor where they do the cliff assault day with the MLs. Foggin Tor is it???

No clue, never did it there. Only did them in the tank, over and over and over again in the sunshine of january and also on that exercise where you just basically yomp all day everyday. "Shortcuts" were our section's speciality.

Gotta say that some of the stuff they did on there scared the shite outta me.

Like the backward slide on the tarzan course, jeezus - that really pissed on my cornflakes. Im going to walk to my nearest bridge tomorrow and hang off till im not afraid anymore.

I didnt know about the spiderman impressions - i take it that it is an integral part of training yeah ? or is it something that only the MLs' do ?

Im guessing that when doing the prmc/training either
a) your hanging out so much u dont care about the heights
b) your too scared off the ptis to care about the heights
c) dont wanna slow down your oppo behind you
to wimp out ?

Seriously though, is anyone else here that has done or is or has done the training and prmc scared of heights ? Got any tips for me to conquer what i think will be my second biggest hill to climb ?

I was absolutely and utterly **** scared of heights. I'll put it this way, going up a six foot ladder into my attic caused me ordeals Lol.

You just have to overcome it, it's your determination versus your fear basically and it was the hardest part of PRMC for me no doubt. Something about having 3 practice attempts at crossing a rope ( TWO of which I had fallen off on) on ropes that were 6 feet off the ground or so then being told to do it again 30 feet up with no harness or anything. PRMC was the hardest though, then when you start doing rope climbs, but you will get used to it.

I hate heights toomate badly, but on the PRMC when you are told to walk across the beam 30ft high you are too nackered to think anything off it, and you just go over because your heart is pounding so fast.

Didnt like the look off the absailing much but i bet it is great fun once you have overcome fear of heights. Looks like I will be finding a bridge too mate.

Thought it was an ok show, gives you a bit of an idea when someone is talking about the tarzan and stuff. The guys that were in it I thought were w@#k for the most part. There's no way you're gonna say to your instructor: "no I won't cross that river". Not to mention saying it to an 80-year old veteran! I saw that, for real, after the endurance course you have to immediately shoot 8/10 on the range. What kind of range is that? 100 meters? And what kind of targets?

Im not sure but i wish my PTI on PRMC was as understanding as their`s seemed to be.

One of the funniest parts of it was when they showed everyone on the tarzan course swinging over the log. Untill one guy ploughed straight into it and cracked his leg.
That was pure comedy!

Yeah exactly, Lurch they called him! Constantly w@#k about how cold he was and that he was homesick. Goddamn, 18 years old and you're homesick! He was a pizza delivery guy and that's all he did at 18 years old, what's your major malfunction!

I agree what a wa*nker. Also they gave father ted sh*t because he would not go into the truck with the 5 rejects who wouldnt cross the river and looked that vet in the eye and told him so, I though the was right to get on another truck , fair play to him.

Got to say that I was proud of the little fella when he went back down for a second attempt to get his gun in the water and came back up with it. I hope I can push myself like that in the pool as that's the part I'm dreading as well!

I also would have liked to have seen those that whimped out actually go up to the Vet and tell him they weren't crossing the river...we never actually saw it! Damn shame...

Did the little man have a choice?!
