Technically speaking yes, but thats working on the basis that (a) you pass basic (b) your application for sf is accepted (c) you pass sf training.

Wot I was trying to say was that OZ commandos compared with RM Commandos are better because they are special forces and the RM is a regular unit (elite unit). However this view is purely based on what I have read and cant actually be 100% sure of the standard of training recieved by OZ Commandos.

British Royal Marines are commandos. The Australian commandos are under the Australian army's wing - just like the UK back in world war 2.

There are units within the Royal Marines who are classified as 'special forces' although it could be argued that seeing as they're commando trained, they are special forces anyway (just like Russian Spetsnatz, the Russian commandos).....

Many countries in the world have commandos, not just Britain. Although it is true that Britain invented the concept of commandos. The Oz commandos play a different role from royal marines in that they do things similar to the SAS.
