Have to agree...my gym costs £35 a month, put my improvement in pull-ups purely down to doing so many assisted ones in there (two months ago I struggled to one unassisted, now I can do 7), as well as an overall strength increase...plus there's the sauna, spa, swimming, and I look a hell of a lot better!! Park outside for running and fartleks as well. I don't use it for CV work, except cross-training for 20 mins as a warm-up, and press-ups/sit-ups aren't really helped as much as they are by actually doing press-ups/sit-ups, but it works all the other muscle groups that aren't worked with the BFT exercises. A mix of indoor and outdoor work has really worked for me at least.

The gym is very important to me at the moment after being told not to run for another month! I go there to go on the rower, cycle machine and then a few miles in the swimming pool. The 26quid a month that it costs is well worth it!

I joined a gym Jan03 and have been going at least 3 times a week every week ever since (other than PRMC week) and I still love going. Mine only costs £20 a week because I'm a student. When I first started I couldn't do many press ups or pull ups at all, but now I can do 70-80 press ups and 15-20 pull ups. The only thing I regret about joining a gym is that I didn't record my progress because it would have been good to look back at the progress I've made on everything.

Paulo,

You are a student and it costs you £20 a WEEK!! Mate you are getting ripped off to high heaven. My membership is £60 a YEAR and I can use it any time without paying a charge every time I go. :P

Indeed the totty :dropmouth: , OH YEAH. Btw, as long as you are doing the pressups in the correct fassion and try your hardest to reach at least above 40 p-ups then your halfway there. The correct method is decribed in another post. ATM i do at least 400 p-ups a day, 70 p-ups minimum each time and thats all from constant p-ups.
