I saw the real bravo two zero programme presented by an ex sas member and ex bedwin tribe person. He went to all the spots over iraq and interveiwed the iraqi's who were invovled. They said nothing happened but as my grandad says "you cant trust an arab"

i dont know who to belive

ive read both books but unfortuantly missed the TV prog however theres a book called ''eye of the storm'' by peter ''billy'' ratcliffe this book is about his 25 years in SAS and includes him as RSM during Gulf 1 he contadicts both Mcnab and Ryan especially as he wrote that he had read/been to the debreifs including Ryan saying he confranted no enemy troops also he and the CO repeatedly encouraged Mcnab to take a vehicle or reduce kit also there was according to ratcliffe no mention of the 250 kills at the official debreif.

also he states that the reason the radios didnt work was because mcnab went towards syria instead of towards the saudi where thejets were flying and the rest of A squdron were working, the RAF and USAF were searching for B20 along the escape route mcnab put in his orders but he was heading north west instead of south

i cant say if this is true but i believe it more than mcnab or Ryan

if anyone has Mcnabs B20 book then turn to the first pages of pictures and look for the map signed by the sqd and general schwarzkopf. Some of the comments are "HOW FAR?" and "a sand dune too far" etc..

Dingers lines crack me up "f@#k outrageous!" and "we are amongst barbarians" lol

The US Intelligence came about with this number *250*

And like i said before, in the film made (B20) they said 100 men dead and so many wounded. Perhaps thats an indication that even Mr Mcnab don't believe the amount.

In the end of the day, they are both blowing their own trumpets, and have been given that number, which suits Mr Ryans Ego to a T.

dinger has no recollection of saying either of those lines, as good as they are.

I'd beleive Andy before I'd beleive Jessica Lynch.

I met Andy at a book signing, he seems like a guy who retired and needed a job, so he writes books.

Ethical? Moral? To profit from your service experience? Maybe or maybe not. I'm sure his book has some fluff to it, wouldn't yours?

I have to say as an American, I was proud to shake his hand and B/S for a few minutes. Atleast he had the guts to do what most men wouldn't even try. :agrue:

Hi all,

I am pretty sure, nay, positive .... that dinger will not write his account of B20, the truth stacks up in the middle of the opposing sides,
