When we first got connected to the internet my Mk3 daughter used to go on this here chatline called "teentalk" or some such, it was a premium line £1.00 a minute. I thought at first the monthly payments did it all. (cries of "greenc**t can be heard)
First phone bill after internet connection started the grey hairs. £400 odd to one phone number! It was over the summer hols. So she was on it a lot with her mates all gathered round the putor talking to some pimply faced youths from "the city of whatever" in the states.
Now I wonder just how many of these web browsers were teens or pedos. (she was 14 at the time)
There must be some boffin out there who can work out how to stop these "groomers" (50,000volts through the keyboard sounds good. I just invent the ideas it is up to the experts to make it work)
Chunky your secret is safe with me, ifen yer missus ever asked about this forum....I ain't seen yer, right?

Ex-marine will not face German charges
Shevaun Pennington is back with her family
The former US Marine who disappeared with 12-year-old Shevaun Pennington could be extradited to the UK within days, German officials have said.
Toby Studabaker, 31, will not be prosecuted in Germany - clearing the way for the process of bringing him to the UK to face possible child abduction charges, the public prosecutor's office in Frankfurt said.
Mr Studabaker was due to appear in court in Frankfurt later on Thursday, a day after his arrest in the city.
British detectives are waiting to speak to Shevaun, who was reunited with her family in Manchester on Wednesday afternoon.
British officers are in Frankfurt with an international warrant for Mr Studabaker's extradition and have been questioning him in a police cell.
The BBC's Jonathan Charles, in Frankfurt, said he had been questioned by German detectives for "most of the night".
A German judge is likely to hear the case on Thursday afternoon, to decide whether there is enough evidence to justify an extradition.
Thats good as I 'm an ex-marine and I live in Germany

Dream on Chunky, as long as there are scabby dogs on the street and sheep in the fields you're as safe as houses!

There are many ways to stop internet iteraction with certain areas(chat rooms etc). There are also programs to log keystrokes pressed, web sites visited, emails checked all freely available on the net. You can then review the logs to see what your child had been up to. If you need a hand gimme a bell .

I have a slightly different take on this given that I met my girlfriend (were soon to be engaged) over the net.
Believe it or not Im normal ,everyday bloke with good range of friends and lots of activities ie I dont consider myself a geek. Id just got back from USA when I found this email from this girl waiting in my mailbox (shed seen my email address from a innocent chat site I used to frequent) I replied and we started chatting, friendship evolved into a relationship and 4 years later she has moved up from London to Wales where we are very happy
I would have to admit tho I would have gone nuts if I had found out she was a 12 year old tho

It is nice to know that the Internet does produce good results and happy endings as well as the other. Best of luck, may you both have a really good life together.

I have spent a lot time talking history to a young lad of 15 in the State's
I told him to tell his parents who he was talking to, and they have been over to visit us. On top of this I have been offered an expsenes paid hoilday to his home by his millioniare father. It's odd but even with the age difference we all get on well. So there is the good and the bad about the internet and I feel there is more good in the system than bad, it is just that bad news stories are better than good ones. So they are the ones
that get published.

Chunks, I've met this smashing bloke called Mike on the net. He's got a spare sheep, a pub across the road and he has a beard. What more could I need. So we are getting together next weekend up in Angelsey (name erased to protect the violent) and we hope to have a preverted time. There's also some dipstick called Archie, who carries his own sheep and an Artist poling up in a narrow boat, if he can get it across at high tide.
Happiness is a 'Kinnell' of Bootnecks.

Why is the fact that he is an ex-us marine so important? I'm sick of hearing him introduced as "former united states marine toby studabaker..."
