If its the one I'm thinking of then the particles weren't actually transported, rather two blocks of material were used, and they managed to make it so that one block would emit the same amount of light energy that they were putting into the other block. Obviously the experiment was more complicated than that, I'll see if I can find more about it.

Don't know if thats the same one Greywings talking about though.

sounds pretty close to what I remember Chris, and it was going back nearly 3 years, so yep think it's the same one.

Not sure how far it's developed, but bet someone's trying to make a weapon out of it.

:D Oy Loz -

"I could jump thru it and go somewhere and then be back again before I'd even left."

That sounds like a pensioners Heads call prior to waking up.......

" I could have sworn that............."

Any road up - a Stargate goes both ways - right ?

Asylum seekers usually want to eventually go 'home' - as soon as it is
rebuilt, safe etc......

The Bush administration have not understood Powell's advice -

"If you break it - it's yours"

Rebuilding most of the places Bush/Blair & Co have disrupted will take
yonks - and yonks - and yonks -

AND - all of the asylum seekers, who have impeccable English, will not
wish to settle down for good in a country peopled by a race that hardly
speaks English :D

Liverpudlians, Mancunians, Geordies, Old Devonians, Kernowians -
endless lists of comglomeration and then there are the Scots, Welsh
and those of the Irish persuation -

That's why they (asylum seekers) cling together in small, or large,
communities - insular - with their own symbols of homelike religion, mosques, synagogues etc etc .....

The English are unable to understand all this fervent religion - no-one
practices religion any more - at least not after Darwin ..... most of the
local churches and chapels are turned into carpet salesrooms, bingo halls,
architects offices -

Ho Hum

By Christ I wish I had seen your response before now.

Greywing, you and your ilk sicken me.

Check out your stats re immigration and asylum seekers. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Or on the other hand, maybe not. Any bloody excuse to cause a fuss about Asians.

Sounds like Marbella.

But then we Brits are allowed to go anywhere and do anything.

Flighty..

What ever your issues with me I feel they have been carried in from another post or posts, or maybe a grievance between me and someone you wish to defend. However if you feel you want to make a point on this post and somehow discredit me, what I said in this post, then lets debate.

I said "we don't need anymore Asylum seekers"

If I'm wrong then that would mean you think we need more (approximately how many?), and if you think we need more people coming to this country to claim up to £500 per week, while our pensioners are on £112. Then yes I do have a problem with that. If we can't be the world's policeman then we can't be the world's nurse either.

Where on Earth have you got "Asians" from, I never mentioned any race of people. That just shows that you've surrendered your free thought to the political correct crowd. Somehow you are the one who have pictured in your head, asylum seekers as little brown chaps from Asia.

No ones mentioned any race of people and the last time I checked "Asylum seekers" weren't a race of people.

To be honest your the ones that sicken me on race, trying to make a racial issue out of something to back up a point of your own, and if I don't agree with your point then somehow I'm racist. Politicians do it every day, it's called a "straw man argument" go look it up. I have no view on race, I don't give it a second thought when I meet anyone, couldn't care less about it.

If I have seriously annoyed you with what I've wrote, then we can chat via pm and sort out whatever problems we have in an adult manor. However if your aim is to try and discredit me in public, then we can continue in this forum.

Oh Sully - thou art good :D

Now that others seem to have caught on to how offensive racist, or similar, remarks can be can we please quit while we're ahead ?

Anyone can have a crack at any religion in the UK - all seem to be
represented - so lets not bother....... Take another look at my post.

AND - I have seen the destruction and burning of a synagogue -
in Gateshead, County Durham .....

This place is supposed to be a Forum for the uniting of serving oppos -
not a pillary or platform for extremists.

Waky waky - lets all have go at Blair or somone really worthwhile :D

I'll just go back and sit on my rock at the top of the hill shall I ?

I can't claim that one Trog - my neighbour Asif told me it. His dad grew up in Karachi and he fought for the empire in WW2.

He made me laugh a while back - he'd read an election flyer about restricting asylum applications, getting strong on law and order etc. "I'll vote for them" he thinks until he sees at the bottom that it was the BNP  He's a bit of a Tory but apart from that he's ok.

I didn't see any racism in the posts above - apart from some inverted racism.

What's the view like up there Trog - room for a small one?
