For the future credibility of the Royal Family, the lad needs to do his bit as any other officer. Lead by exaple, with no special treatment. He can hack it and it will do him and his ilk all the good in the world as long as those around him don'tget all nervy every time he blinks and cause him to fark it all up.

Can't see what all the uproar is about. Kings and Princes have led armies in the past, why not now.? George six was a Middy at Jutland, which was hot enough for most people, Duke of Kent was RAF last big one and PTG was R.N.Security is always a problem, but he will always be surrounded by his own lads, how secure does he need to be?

Should be interesting to see what the public think.

I think he should serve. However, as we are signed up to the war crimes court in the Hauge, what would happen if for some reason he got involed with something whilst on duty and ended up being charged with war crime's, as the son of the future King this could lead to all sort's of problem's.

As we all know this goverment signed up to it and there is no time limit on when someone could be charged. The American's did not sign up for it because they new this could lead to problem's in the future.

I know it's pretty far fetched, but it could happen.

Thing about the war crimes tribunal, it would never happen...
They all have so much dirt on one another, who'd push for a prosecution?
They all know where the bodies are buried: if they didn't do the digging, they provided the shovels.

I think he should serve with his regiment/squadron or whatever. Wherever he may have to go.
After all he is only following his dad!!
No, I don't mean Charles!!

Correct me if I'm wrong (no chance of that not happening! ). I may not understand all the particulars.

Isn't a British Officer said to "hold the Queen's Commission?" So in a very real sense Harry doesn't just go to war for his country, like an American soldier does, he goes specifically for grandma too, right? For Queen and Country, or something like that?

If Harry holds the Queen's Commission it seems to me that it would be all the more important, since he's a member of the Royal Family, that he goes like anyone else. If he's too important to risk for that concept (the Queen's Commission), then, is that concept really important? If it's not important enough for the people who benefit from it the most to risk something for it, why even call it the Queen's Commission anymore?

Anyway, just rambling, it's for the British People to settle.

You old Republican you :P
You do have a point though LR and it was mentioned previously at the time when her son rejected Her Majesty`s Royal Marines, the useless Bastard, er no offence Ted
When Royals take the Royal Oath, they must have a get-out clause along the lines of "as long as it suits me" sort of thing
Once Chazzer pegs it and Wills becomes King Billy, he should make Prince Ted complete Commando Training, no matter how old the old faggot is, then he should be Cashiered. Then I`d be happy :-?

Well said. 43 y/o bald guy here. Shave own turnip to the bone twice a week and justify my firearms expenses to the Mrs by the amount of $ she spends on her hair and I don't!
