Steve, I joined same time as you if I remember right, I did about 40 weeks of training in a junior troop, or thereabouts.
G, one option mate is to go into the system and do the PRMC.
If that goes well for you then you have had a good insight into what comes next, decision time, Go for it, or if it doesnt work out, try again in 12/18 months.
You will get there if thats what you really want.

All the advice given is realy good pal, just remember to get some good GCSEs so if you dont like it youv always got you know what

Jnr training was 9 months 3 months at Deal and 6 months at CTCRM - I was just 16 and 2 weeks old 7 stone 13 and a mear 5foot 1 and a half inch... when I started training I was 5foot 10 inches 8 and a half stone when I passed out 9 months later and it is written in my green book to boot...

My mate passed out a few weeks back. He is only 16 but he is currently loving every moment of it all and doesnt regret not staying on for the 6th form. The decision is ultimately up to you and to be honest any decent exam results are gonna give you a boost.

My best mate was 16 came out as best junior marine and only just dipped the Kings Badge board. Nine years on he is a Cpl (ML and sniper) having served in 42, 45 and BPT, NI, Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq.
