Should’ve brought back hanging long ago, Shipman chose to kill himself by his own hand and cheated those who would liked to have seen him truly suffer.

Much better to have people like Shipman spend years on death row appealing, never knowing whether they’ll hang or not. I’d rather Shipman had to listen to those who had to go before him, the sound of keys in the lock, doors opening and slamming, the footsteps to the hanging room and the noise of the trap door opening. That would be a just retribution and money well spent, hope the coward rots in the lowest pit of hell with Thomas Hamilton.

You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!

Nah, something more in line with the electric chair in the "Green Mile" where the guy didn`t put water on the convicts head, and slowly cooked him, that would be better, more satisfaction for the bereaved families

Why have an inquiry, some guy is going up to Wakefield prison today to find out why it was allowed to happen, as far as I am concerned the guy did the honourable thing, just imagine what was going through his mind when he was tieing the sheet to the window bars, climbing on to the chair and then jumping off to stretch his neck, now that has got to be as frightening as waiting for your executioner.

I support the return of the death penalty but I have to admitt that Shipman took the easy way out. There are decent people who have died the same way. He should have been executed so that he lost control of his own destiny. The unfortunate thing is that his victims families will now never know the full truth, even though I dont believe that he would have said anything anyway.

The honourable thing was not to kill himself. That was the cowardly thing to do. The honourable thing would have been to serve his sentance, help the police and not skip it as he has now done. At least if he was forced to die he would have been truely punished.
