All these injuries!!!!!
As you can see I rarely post I prefer to just read the topics, until now.
I am sick of young lads on this forum who spend half of their time raving on about how much phys they do and which miracle training programme they are on this week, and the other half of their time whinging about what appear or sound like being minor injuries.
I accept that injuries are a problem, what I do not accept is the need for all the endless whining and moaning because "I have a bruise" "I woke up with a bogey on the end of my nose, I think it's pnuemonia"
You get the point. Everybody picks up little niggling injuries but you will just be expected to crack on.
It seems to me like some youngsters on this forum are looking for any excuse to delay actually going into training.
Do you really think you would be withdrawn from exercise or ops just because you have a cold or a splinter in your finger.
Some of you lads should just grab your balls and get on with it or before you know it, it will be too late!!

The big majority of people who post about injuries actully have no choice about not doing running or whatever, If they did carry on training they would never be able to join the military due to BIG problems that are irreversible. Your tar'ing alot of people with the same brush mate, and its out of order.
I can see why they would delay the PRMC because of injury's or colds, but training ? I dont know who you are or what your background is, those that have passed the PRMC know how tough training is going to be and know if their injury would cope. I passed the PRMC with a torn hamstring tendon (professional sport players have surgury if they get this). My doctor, who was a medic in the falkland war, said the body takes 4-6 week to recover from the flu, and to start training just 3 days later with a lack of fitness is out of the question. The AFCO also told to me keep right away untill i was 100% recovered. I've never felt lower than have when I had to cancel going down last week. So untill you know the full story behind everyones situation I suggest you shutup and get a clue.It seems to me like some youngsters on this forum are looking for any excuse to delay actually going into training.
Nah he's made a fair point. I mean some lads like daveb have had rotten luck but some get a twinge and get on here panicking so don't take it personally.
JM, sorry to hear that bud, sh*tty luck. Put it in perspective mate - RM aren't going anywhere so just be patient and take it in your stride.
I do, however, not find it particularly irritating like you reflective. I get more annoyed with the "miracle" phys programs and the little knobbers offering PT advice from their depth of knowledge gained from school PE.
Some lads will spout about this and that, simple thing is to do what the RM tell you. They're not gonna lie to you!?!?!
And furthermore there is a PTI resident on here(skiffle) who's helped loads of lads out.

God, I remember when something could be said on here without everyone going on the defensive.
Reflective is right for the most part, there’s to much crap being posted on here asking stupid questions that have been answered time and time again. Five minutes using the search facility then actually reading will produce a wealth of info.

It is not my intention to tar everybody with the same brush.
I am fully aware that there is a lot of good advice within the forums and plenty of it has being useful to myself.
I am by no means describing all forum users in my above post, I am refering only to a few individuals.
I understand that these individuals are probably the youngest users of the forum and subsequently some of them are naive.
I am just sick of little tossers whinging and whining about what seem minor problems, do these lads think they will have a personal doctor by their side everywhere they go whilst serving??
The reason I didn't use any specific names in my above post is because I wanted to avoid being drawn into a slanging match with with one of them and degenerating the thread into abusive one-liners.
Never mind anyway i'll just sit back and wait for the next "my bum hurts when I wipe it" thread, no doubt to be followed by the "I've delayed my application by 3 months" thread.

Well I guessed you were talking about me when you mensioned cold as an excuse to not start training as I dont recal anyone else making that excuse. And for you information a flu and cold are totally different, a cold you can actually walk about, if you have the flu its impossible to get out of bedThe reason I didn't use any specific names in my above post is because I wanted to avoid being drawn into a slanging match with with one of them and degenerating the thread into abusive one-liners.
And lew, I was just defending the people that have genuine excuses, he didnt say anything about the petty questions that have been asked and answered so many times. He was having a dig at the 'younger users'.
i agree with reflective for the most part. A lot of injuries are mainly psychological... STOP! before i continue i am pointing no fingers, toes or anything. no one is to take this personally and think i am! AND CONTINUE...
people who maybe aren't 100% mentally prepared for what they see as the challenges ahead of them can begin to make excuses for themselves so that all the impressive 'i'm going to do this in the corps, i'm going to be that' that their family has been getting for a month of sundays doesn't make them look bad if things go tits up!
i seen it a lot when i was down there, "shit we've got exercise whatever on monday... sickbay here i come!"
although i'm currently pished, the point i'm trying to make is that anticipation is worse then actual event (confidence jump at foggin tor proved this to me) and that maybe other users of this forum don't need to hear your current medical situation a million times to be reassured that you're not being a wimp and still want to do it...
so in the words of reflective...
"just grab it by the balls and crack on!"
daz (can't believed type all that in current condition!)

that would mean THEM doing the work, perish the thought!
I know mate, I’ve been one of them recently, but the point i was trying to make, and it probably didn’t come across very well is that, if they used the search facility they would see that these minor problems they're having have already been talked about, and an answer of how to solve it given.JM wrote: And lew, I was just defending the people that have genuine excuses.

Reflective your post is more Stupid than theres, if your sick of people complaining about there injuries then dont read the threads!!! seams simple enough to me. what you are failing to realise is that the people your talking about are most likley just out of school or even still in school, and 15/16 year olds are just boys not HARDCORE men like yourself!!! so just a straight answer or a kind hint that they should use the search facility is enough with out you jumping on there backs. if they need to talk about what is worrying them then so be it you dont have to listen !!

I Agree with reflective in all honesty. Some of the worries cast are just to silly for words.
Also some questions verge on the banal. I'm still waiting for somebody to ask when he should change his socks!
Questions ref "Real Problems" be it medical or whatever, nay hassle about them. But ones like "Everytime I run with 60Llb weights on my back it hurts, why is this? I am Sixteen" begger belief!
