SMLE with out a doubt, It had the smoothest bolt action and allowed troops to kick out a good fire rate.

Springfield M1903 - starting service in 1905, seeing us through 2 World Wars, and can still be found in most recent Wars to date, including the Korean Civil War

Maybe for the Americans, But the SMLE was one of the best rifles for British forces

The video you linked was hosted by an American, which I hope was deliberate irony.

Us Brits only kept that weapon because we didn't have time to think of anything better quick enough lol

The .303 is still in service with some countries and it is still used by the Canadians in the frozen north as it is not affected so much by the weather.

Use of the Lee Enfield meant soldiers were taught how to shoot, marksmanship was prized, and paid for.The WW1 soldiers used rapid fire to such effect that the German thought that they were facing machine guns.Ammunition was not wasted to any where near the same level as today,as every shot was made to count, unlike the point and spray methods now in use.It could also kill at long range, and is still used today as a sniper weapon.

by WOW! That hurt.
I voted Mauser. The thing is unbelievably accurate, easy to shoot, and reliable. Also nothing like an 8mm Mauser round to ensure your target is not getting back up. 8)

Although to be fair, I've never fired any Enfields, so I don't actually know how I would sway if I had, but it is certainly class above the Mosin and the '03.

The .303 is one of the best rifles ever made and has only been topped by the AK47 for numbers made. It was that accurate that at 200 yards I could get all ten rounds touching each other on the target and you could cover the group with what is now 10p piece

A little suprised that the M14 did not get a mention.Although it had relatively short service compared to other better known rifles it was/is a doozy.Still manufactured by the Springfield Armory it is in limited service in the 'Gan.It's only fault was over engineering ie it was too expensive to mass produce and ended being replaced by the awful M16 A1.

Just my two cents.
