thanks that was a great help, i noticed there wasn't a BST (battle swimming test), basically you have to jump in the swimming pool in full rig with webbing (with two blocks to add weight) and replica rifle, swim a length then hand out your webbing and rifle, was curious to know if the paras do this?

If you ever land in a pond or a lake you will soon know you need to swim, and with odd the places the RAF might drop you by accident then you will need to be trained for every thing

yeah i do know 'beef'. you'll do your army swim test early on (unless its changed) in coveralls and its a piece of piss (unless you cant swim - hence test) what your describing more akin to marines i believe. anyway forget swimming your an aspiring paratrooper for gods sake lol. youll be thrashed in the pool at catterick but drowning will be least of your worries.
