10 Para's Injured During A Drop

Post by Tab »

The RAF dropped a stick of Paratroopers into trees during a night drop. They were dropped a mile and half away from the DZ, the Hercules that dropped them was 40 years old and did not have a navigator or GPS so it was down to guess work. All the Para's were from 1st Battalion and two of them are in a serious condition

Been in the trees before.
Did a drop for her maj and ended up in the trees, the reason is the aircraft had a safety limit so that it didn't fly over her stand incase of a malfuction.
Did see it on Pathe News somwhere. Ooops giving my age away now.

What was the drill for landing in the trees, Put your arm around your back and between legs the hold onto your nuts. This was to stop a branch having annual sex with you or tearing off your nuts, both could be rather painful

If I remember rightly, get into seat strap, feet tucked under your bits and arms across your face.

It appears these days your good looks are more important than your nuts or that other sensitive bit that is always blowing you kisses

Your good looks were not a priority, your eyes are quite important though.

With the your other arm you would put it across your face, then bring your chin down to your chest so that your face was covered from from the top of your helmet down to your chin, then curse the RAF dispatcher for being such ****
