Tornado Training Specialist

Would you like to provide effective and efficient training services, covering a diverse range of aircraft systems and subjects to meet our customer training requirements? We currently have three vacancies for Tornado Training Specialists at our site in Warton.

Our customer base is from both the UK and overseas, with the range of training services provided being varied and aligned to the specific need of each customer. As a Tornado Training Specialist, you will be carrying out training needs analysis, designing and delivering new and existing training courses, ensuring they are aligned to meet the customer's needs. You will be assessing courses on time, cost and effectiveness.

This role offers you the opportunity to get involved in an interesting project with responsibility for ensuring work can be carried out effectively.

Your main responsibilities as a Tornado Training Specialist will involve:

Delivering practical On the Job Training in the operational environment to ensure our students achieve the agreed competency levels

Ensuring the general safety and welfare of students during training activities

Monitoring student performance to ensure effective progress in meeting training objectives and output standards

Producing training support materials including curriculum, training objectives, syllabi, course plans, and assessment and evaluation methods - to satisfy both BAE Systems and customers training requirements

Specifying, designing and developing appropriate and effective training aids, including computer aided instruction and advanced desktop training systems to ensure technology supported training provides the most modern training delivery methods

Researching, writing and validating advanced training notes and associated courseware for use in support of BAE Systems and customers training organisations

Conducting assessment and evaluation exercises in accordance with the Systems Approach to Training (SAT) model and implementing remedial action as required

Planning, controlling and delivering assigned training related projects, appropriate to the your specialism and experience

Conducting technical interviews with prospective employees to determine and report on their theoretical and practical proficiency levels

Your skills and qualifications as a Tornado Training Specialist will ideally include:

• Apprenticeship or other technical training is advantageous
• Experience in the maintenance of Military Aircraft
• Qualified Technical Instructor within domain of expertise is ideal
• Familiarity with and understanding of the Systems Approach to Training (SAT) model and JSP822 is ideal
• Fast Jet experience
• Experience in using specialised equipment (e.g. avionic rigs, electronic/electromagnetic equipment) and experience in applying tools and techniques (e.g. tool use, use of software packages or mainframe systems)
• IT literate with competence in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of some aspects of Quality and Systems engineering

What we are looking for in you:

You will be flexible and self-motivated with the ability to prioritise tasks in order to meet tight deadlines. You will be able to plan, conduct, manage and deliver excellence in the development of the training solution. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to work well with others.

You must be prepared to travel both within the UK and overseas, for durations of up to 8 – 12 weeks long.
