Minimum age for army in 1825

Hi, I am new to this forum and hope this is the right place for my first post!

I am writing a family history for my god-daughter and think I may have found an ancestor who was in the army around 1825-35. Please can someone tell me what was the minimum age for joining the army in 1825.
