Britain and the Cape Colony 1795-1820 - lecture video

Post by Milgeek »

Hello there - I know this is a little niche but I have just started recording the public lectures that the university that I work for does, some of these will be on military history...

The first one I have done is an hour long lecture called 'The Key to India': Southern Africa, Troop Movements and Britain's Indian Ocean World, 1795-1820

Link to the YouTube movie: Britain and the Cape Colony 1795-1820

As this is the first video I have done like this I would greatly appreciate your thoughts - and comments and suggestions for how best to video what is a pretty static lecture would be welcome.

This video is done for The University of Hull and the Wilberforce Institute for the study of Slavery and Emancipation.

And I hope the subject matter is of interest - I found it enjoyable as I never knew just why Britain originally occupied the Cape.

Regards,

Steve
