Just sent application form.

Post by dilligaf »

Having just sent my application form off i have started some fitness training in preperation for the fitness test and beyond. I have looked for the basic levels that are required and the only one i seem to be able to find is for the 1.5 mile run but a beep test and press ups and sit ups are mentioned so what are the required levels times for these?

Any info would be great plus advice.

Hi. Get hold of a copy of "Fighting Fit" by Adrian Weale. Its geared towards training for SAS/Para/RM selection but there is plenty of general fitness stuff in there. Start on the Home Heartwarmer programme, you'll be knocking out press-ups by the dozen in no time.
Also, have a look at at the main Army website. It shows you the correct (i.e. military way) to do press-ups and sit-ups.
Remember the old saying; train hard, fight easy.

Good luck with your application. I've just sent off for a form.
