Promotion

Post by cnjnh »

I've read that promotion in the RAF isn't as good as the Army! I accept this maybe false though!

The Army website says, "Within five years you could reach the rank of Sergeant and earn up to £32,756. " ! Thats if you join as a regular soldier, not an Officer!

How does the RAF compare with this?

Thanks

P.S. It wasn't the Army website that says the promotion is better with them.... It was a few people's opinions, from their own first hand experiences, whilst they have been in the Army or RAF! (Or so they say :-? )

Promotion in the RAF can be very slow, not being RAF I couldn't say for certain why. The only reason I've heard is that the RAF plan on a 35yr career where the Army plan on a 22yr so less time at the upper levels.
