Chef

Post by tranmere_gary »

Hi ,

Does anybody have any idea what kind of hours chefs work in the RAF ?
i understand it will be shift work , breakfast , dinner ect but just an idea of hour many hours a chef works in a normal day would be good?
Also , how many days off a week do they normally get off a week , two?
How often are you able to come home at weekends if you arent due on shift ?

Thanks for any help

Sorry, no idea, there's not many left these days since most of our catering has been contracted out.
The AFCO should be able to answer these sorts of questions though...
You can have peace.
Or you can have freedom.
Don't ever count on having both at once.

You can never tell....In the forces you can have days off canceled at a moments notice or instructed to work all the hours that god makes, this will differ depending on the state of alert that is on or if the Squadrons are special standby

As a chef you'll pretty much be on constant standby in case there's an unexplained death on camp....
