Minimum rest period between duty

Post by Tartanbeef »

Could somebody please clear up this question for me...

How much sleep is required between finishing work and starting duty the next day?

The reason i ask is because a member of staff who "lives in" is working until 2am....but has to be up for a block inspection at 6am..thats a space of 4 hours! The Airman then has a 6 hour drive home for the weekend after this.

Could somebody please clear the answer on this for me

If you are on active service then you rest when ever you can. The drive home is his affair and has nothing to do with the Forces. On guard duty it is two hours on and four off normally depending on the call outs and when you finish your guard duty then you pick up your normal duties. It is all part of the job

This is the military, surely you just get on and do it?
