Stoppage drills and NSP's help...!!!

I was a Marine cadet for about 3 years and got to the rank of Cpl.

I was just wondering, because the cadet SA80 equivilant (L98) is a single shot (not automatic), cock and shoot rifle, What are the variences between the stoppage drills and NSP's between the cadet L98 and the SA80?

Also, being a cadet, we did drill practice (Marching etc) with old WWII Lee Endfield's (I think), and I would also like information on marching/parade drill with an SA80.

Any help would be welcomed![/b]

Ok, I've left cadets, but I did know quite a lot of drill, due to my cadet unit being the district and national champions. Also weapons stoppage drills etc. are IN MY HEAD and what I really wanted to know was if they were different, or the same as the cadet drills.

I am gonna start training with the RMR in January and if the stoppage drills and NSP's are the same (but with obvious MINOR differences with the rifles), I should be one step ahead of most of the other nods without any experience.

I just wanted to know the minor differences, and if I could adapt all the knowledge I know into the RMR skills that I learn. And also what about the fieldcraft signalling, is that the same?

If you know what you know as well as you say you know what you know, then there will be no problem learning the "little differences" which you will need to know. In other words, you already have a headstart, learning intricate details is daft as you will be shown when the time is right.

You'll be starting in December if you pass the PRMRC at the end of this month ;)

Sit Ups - 64
Press Ups - 33
Burpees - 40-45 can't remember exact amount
60m shuttle run - 55secs
Chin Ups - 9
3 Mile run - 11mins 42secs
Bleep Test - 10.4
I just about finished the swimming test. I can't swim, but the day of the test it just came to me and I copied what everyone else did (with the strokes and that). Did 1 length breast stroke and front crawl coming back.

I've got quite a lot of explosive strength all around, it's just my endurance that I need touching up on.

About the stoppage drills i thought the only difference between the SA80 and cadet GP was the gas stoppages were you have to switch it to excessive. On the NSP's the only difference was you have to involve the change leverto make sure its on repetition. I was in army cadets by the way

Cheers Ad :D
