Looking for genuine custom British Army dog tags

Post by Madjammer »

Hi all. Just registered here as I've been having trouble trying to source a company that makes genuine British Army dog tags, the round ones. Loads of places do the American style, but I am trying to have some genuine British Army ones made up for a friend and the only site I've managed to find is timstags.com, but they aren't responding to my emails at all, so I was wondering if there was anywhere else? Google is not giving me much. Thanks in advance. :)

The ones I had were of a fibre / plastic type. We never had metal ones like the Americans in case theyt made a noise.

Mine have always been metal Tab, I just get 'bumpers' to put on them to stop them jingling. Doesn't work so well with my med tag though!

All I can say is what we wore in the Army when I was in the Service, and it was the same a few years earlier during WW 2

Yeah, my dad had the soft ones when he was in, but they're all metal these days.
I guess it depends if the OP is looking for 'authentic' tags in current use or from a particular period of time.

My dad is so old-school, his dogtags were made of real dog meat. They had to stay up late each night curing and re-curing them, to stop them rotting.

So we must always wait for these periods if we want to see these beautiful things. That's right !
