Re: SAS Info please.
You cant just join up and apply for the SAS. You need at least 3 years of service before you can even be considered for selection, so any fitness issues should be gone by then. I'd recomend trying to get into a 'elite' unit e.g The Para's as this is a more difficult infantry training regime. Just ge...

Some notes I wrote in college; :) HMS Manchester, a Town class light cruiser, built by Hawthorn Leslie at Hebburn and launched in April 1937, she had a crew of 750. Her first action was in the Norwegian Campaign in 1940. In 1941, Manchester, saw action in the battle of Cape Spartivento, when she and ...

As long as the illnesses have been checked out and you are deemed for I see no issue with you passing.
I currently suffer from depression and the facilities and help you can get to help are magnificent. Their are specific consultants that specialise in depression and the effects it can cause.

Re: EXPERIENCE ADVICE NEEDED ABOUT JOINING THE ARMY
Well lets start; • Not everyone in the infantry is thick. Especially these days a few good qualifications are handy for joining up. My friend only just got into the Infantry and he had 5 GCSE'S and 2 A-levels • Should you join the army if your afraid to die. Yes, I mean unless your slightly odd I th...

Re: Rifle POLL for fun
The Jungle version of the Lee Enfields did the job that it was designed to do. It was smaller and lighter as contact with the enemy was normally at close range. It had a flash eliminator so that it would not give your position away in the jungle or at night. Okay it is not so good for hunting or ta...

Re: Helicopters and asthma
Hi chaps. Can you become a pilot if you have previously had asthma. I've been clear from asthma for 7 years, is that OK. I start sixth form in a couple of weeks and will hopefully get good A levels. I would like to fly helicopters preferably Chinook or Merlin. My dad who was a pilot in the RAF said...

Re: Being Gay in the army -What is it REALLY like, truthfull
Honestly mate, you don't need to worry. I have a mate who is gay and we are both in the infantry - the most stereotypically manly/butch job in the army. I don't give a damn about his sexuality because I know that he is a bloody good soldier - something he has proven on operations. I even know a blo...

Act the way you do normally and, yes you may get grief of those harsh, what the word, b******* but just let it wash over you, who cares what they think?! You will find there are always people like that but just ignore them. If your physically capable and do your job well, well that's all that matter...

Re: Enlistment Query
In theory you should have to stay till your interviews etc. are over and if your lucky you should begin basic training straight afterwards so you woe have to stay in the UK 3+ Months however there is about a two week gap in this period where you may fly home. It's great to know that the people of th...
