Famous last words on May 9, 1864

May 9, 1864: 142 years ago Union Major General John Sedgwick was killed at the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse. His death was said to have been caused by a Confederate sharpshooter armed with a Whitworth rifle. Just before he fell Sedgewick had been berating some artillerymen for ducking due to lo...

I'm the legitimate offspring, of the bastard offspring, of the Ulster plantation. You can thank good King James I for that'un. What were my ancestors going to do, Harry? They weren't Irish enough to be Irish; Scottish enough to be Scottish; or British enough to be British. There was nothing l...

It's all over the state.

My jurisdiction isn't typical, we have more marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms than anything. There's meth around town though.

In the rest of the state meth is dominant. Usually because of oilfield workers and types like that.

Small business owners like to point out that illegal aliens do the jobs that Americans don't or won't do, blah, blah, blah. So what? Let's just say, for arguments sake, that every perceived advantage to illegal aliens is true; there are still more disadvantages. Name me an advantage to illegal immig...

I acknowledge the U.S. Constitution grants them the right to protest but the protests still annoy me. Mexico doesn't grant non-citizens those rights. I could not go to Mexico and legally protest anything. No amnesty! You should not recieve a reward of amnesty and citizenship when your very first act...

Correct me if I'm wrong (no chance of that not happening! ). I may not understand all the particulars. Isn't a British Officer said to "hold the Queen's Commission?" So in a very real sense Harry doesn't just go to war for his country, like an American soldier does, he goes specifica...
