Did they tell you why you had to wait so long? I went in on my 1st visit and got given a date straight away, for 6 weeks later

If you pass the july PRC there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to complete your phase 1a course in november. That leaves you with a summer comando course

Well i'm sure it wont be the end of the world. Couldn't tell you exactly what the recommended intake is. The more active are the more you are protected against the effects anyway. I'm partial to the odd bar myself.

it is prolonged intake over a number of years that causes a problem.

Not a good idea to consume large quantities of sugar. This insulin deposits excess sugar as fat. This will wear out the pancreatic beta cells which produce insulin, and can lead to type II diabetes. Time to cut down on those extra sugars in tea and coffee

Avoid food items that are very high in sugar as you blood glucose will spike and then plummet, which will make you feel weak.

Take a few high sugar items just in case you do feel like that.
But the bulk of your enrgy shoul dcome from "complex" carbohydrates. These are found in things like ...

Hi!

I would advise against the OTC as you won't learn soldiering skills to a decent standard. You won't get the same kind of discipline to prepare you for regualr forces as well, eg the Phys and routine in the field

I left OTC to join the RMR and learnt more in 1st month at RMR than i did in 9 ...

They give you a kit list of equipment which comes to 24 pounds, then weigh it before you go out the gate. Plus your rifle. No safety bergan anymore. Tyhe corporal doing the route will carry that

PRC usually consists of:
Press ups
Situps Burpees
Bleep Test
Pull Ups
BFT

Training is very similar almost everything is covered, just not practised as much due to time constraints.

The Tarzan course is suppossed to be an aerial confidence test i think. Yoou only get 2 goes at it so you cannot get used to the height too much. One aquaint loose order, and one test attempt.
